How Men Cross Legs in Europe vs U.S.
Gathering last night the topic came up of how men crossed their legs after it was noticed that of the group of ten Yanks six did it one way three the other and one could not cross his legs.
One guy offered up the comment that in Europe it was much more the custom for males to cross their legs like women - bit hard to describe but this the bottom of the knee rests on the other knees - the feminine style as he called it whilst the macho American male style is more common in that your ankle is resting on the other knee - at kind of a right angle. Most agreed the feminine style was more comfy but perhaps frowned upon as a sign of perhaps the limp-wrist itis. But the question is - how do most males cross their legs in Europe - the opinion was usually in the feminine style. I suspose it may be more a Latin thing - like men carrying what we'd call purses. Any insights - i've been to Europe many times and never noticed and actually never thought about it here until last night - never realized that i was doing it like a girl! - feminine crossing whilst American males often |
And how did I just know this was a PQ thread even before opening it . . . . .
|
Great. Now all the ladies who want to blend will be instructing their "DH"s to cross their legs like girls so they're not identified as tourists!
|
I always wondered why American's crossed their legs that funny way. I had thought is was some sort of conditioned reflex to high stress or general groin exposure. Now I know its europeans who do it wrong.
Next question why the funny folded arms And on the next channel; travel information |
Limp wrist itis????
Hysterical. What some of you straight "men" don't know about being really butch could fill volumes. |
Sheesh...is it me, or is this just plain silly?
...all that goes on in the world and your group talks about leg crossing... PalenQ ... are you an American male? |
Isn`t the way men crossed their legs one way the nazis found out who the Americans were? And the way they ate too? I had read that before.
|
In my experience, most men sit with their legs wide apart so that they can take up more than their fair share of space.
|
I don't know how this came about, but doubt if it was really some macho thing. Lots of habits or customs develop for other reasons. As for the original guys gathering -- I do not agree that it is more comfortable to do it the female way. In fact, the male way (ankle on other knee) is more comfortable and should be healthier because the other way (female way) can decrease your circulation more, particularly the leg on top. That's why they warn you not to sit for long periods with your knees bent at close angles, like in a small airplane seat.
Having your legs wide apart probably is more comfortable, but is not very feminine, and I also think men don't do this that much in more "formal" situations, so to speak. If they do, it looks a little cross. It's for more casual seatings, outdoors, sports, etc. Guys don't sit that way when relaxing in a restaurant, for example, at least I hope not. Maybe it developed because all those European males have to take up less space in their minuscule apartments. I've certainly noticed this, it was real funny once when I saw a photo of BIll Clinton meeting in some office with some European politician, forget who, and they were both sitting on sofas or something and Bill had his legs the American male way and the Eur. man the other way. I don't think this was a formal meeting, they didn't have suits on though, or I don't think Mr. Clinton would do that in a suit. |
Christina - interesting take
the group also thought that some males may not do the feminine way because they were too well endowed (if there is such a thing) and..... |
No, they want it to be thought that they are....
|
I think they cross their legs the same way if there is no outhouse around, and too many people to use the bushes!
|
>Most agreed the feminine style was more comfy ...<
Not for me it ain't. There's stuff that gets squashed. :) ((I)) |
The real mystery here surrounds the one fellow who couldn't cross his legs at all.
Canadian? |
Does this mean that American men are more amply endowed than European men?
|
Is it time to discuss how men and women take off T-shirts? Most women cross their arms and pull the shirt inside out. Most men grab the collar from the back (often one-handed) and pull it off right side out. What about the members of each sex who do it the other way?
|
kerouac,
Women pull their t-shirt off that way so that they don't smear their makeup. |
<Does this mean that American men are more amply endowed than European men?>
that could well be crucial to the answer - unfortunately my computer can't open this file to find out! Health 24 - GraphicsPenis size per country. What is the average penis size in different countries? And how do other countries compare with South Africa? ... http://www.health24.com/sex/Graphics...3258,32493.asp |
Lol PalenQ
I'm at work, I don't dare open that file |
