Since my last post in 2007, I have added 5 more for a total of 83: Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta, Canada, Iguazu Falls Argentina (didn't get to the Brazil side), Valparaiso old town Chile, and two in Germany: the Residenz in Wuerzburg, and the old town in Bamberg.

I hope to add 7 or 8 more this year in visits to Russia and Italy.

I just saw a feature on Deutsche Welle about the Thracian Tomb near Sveshtari, Bulgaria, and remembered this thread about UNESCO World Heritage Sites. I know after a little research that Sveshtari is a bit out of the way, but still, no one has it on their list?

I've seen 79 sites and will be adding a few more later this year.

This is crazy... I've been to 11 countries but so far I only counted about 14 sites I've seen?!?!?! That means I'm not visiting the "must sees" when I travel.

Should be adding 4-5 this fall.

Hate to bear bad news, but I think it may only be 51. Dresden Elbe Valley has been "delisted" because UNESCO was not pleased with a bridge built over the river.

Still an impressive list, though! (And I only point this out because I happened to notice that the Dresden Elbe Valley had been crossed out on the UNESCO listing, with the "delisted" term next to it. Was mighty curious about that.)

If they add my grandmother's couch it would 67.

55 - Mostly Europe, some US and Canada, a couple from Mexico and Japan, and one from New Zealand.

Mostly, when going down the list, I am reminded of how many countries I have never visited and how many fascinating places there are in the world that I would love to see.

84 but I may have missed a few. I'm glad to say I've hit nearly all the North American ones - Canada, US and Mexico - and many in Europe.

In my post in January 2010 I noted that I had visited 83 sites. My current total is now 119, after travels in Russia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Kenya, Tanzania, Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, Hungary, and the Czech Republic where I visited UNESCO sites which I had never seen before. I hope to add more in the coming year in travels to India and Ecuador.

Only 10 sites for me (I feel like such a piker among the rest of you!). It's tough for us to get away to travel, but we do like to visit UNESCO sites whenever we can.

US
- Everglades
- Grand Canyon
(I don't think you can count the one time I flew over the Statue of Liberty)

Austria
- Salzburg historic city center

England
- Stonehenge
- Westminster Palace/Abbey

France
- Paris/banks of the Seine
- Strasbourg (in just another couple months)

Germany
- Heidelberg (it's on the tentative list, I understand)
- Neuschwanstein (also on the tentative list)
- Upper Middle Rhine Valley (in just another couple months!)

Of all of those, Stonehenge was my favorite -- not for the hype but just for the energy I felt there (ley lines?). The Tower of London, Heidelberg and Salzburg are all close runners-up, though.

Only 18 for me. (I'm 25 years from retirement so still working, I have 2 young kids who are just in the last few years old enough to travel somewhere other than the beach, and a husband who is a homebody, so don't judge :)

Plus, it's a lot harder for us North Americans to reach these places than for those of you in Europe! You have many close options to choose from! The UNESCO sites are few and far between in the U.S.

I do hope to continue traveling and increase my number! It will go up in July, for sure.
