How many nights to spend in Cordoba, Granada and Seville?
 

Hi,

Can you please tell me if the number of nights I have in mind to spend in these three destinations is too many, too little or just right?

*Granada - 4 nights
*Cordoba - 3 nights
*Seville - 5 nights
How many days does it take to see the major sites in Seville?

Your schedule is a very leisurely one, and they are far too infrequent compared to the four-cities-in-five-days ones.

I think that you could easily take off one night in each of the three cities and perhaps spend time exploring other towns in the area. Personally, I only know Ronda (which I would recommend), but "the route of the white towns," Jerez della Frontera and Jaen (a very nice parador, so I have heard) might be worth looking into.

Unless you are planning many day trips, I would knock off 2 nights from Granada and Cordoba.

Seville is fine depending upon the time of year. In hot weather you'll get less done per day.

Unless you're planning some day trips out of Cordoba I would suggest that you add time in Sevilla and visit Cordoba as a day trip from there. We were staying In Sevilla and took the AVE train to Cordoba( less than 1 hr.). We had plenty of time to see the sights and have lunch and were back in Sevilla late afternoon. I'm not sure what I would have done with more time in Cordoba.

Sorry, Just noted that you're already planning to spend 5 days in Sevilla . I think that's plenty. Don't know what to suggest but definitively, 3 days in Cordoba is too much.

You could easily spend five nights in Seville with plenty to do. We spent 2 nts. in Granada and got to do and see a lot, and Cordoba could be done in one.

Granada- this is fine. make sure you are seeing the alhambra both by day and night.

Cordoba, though i love cordoba, 3 nights is probably too much unless you are in no real hurry at all. I didnt get to see Medina Azhara, which are the ruins outside town and havent really heard from anyone if they are worth it. reduce cordoba to two nights, should be enuff:)

Sevilla- i will go out on a limb here. most people seem to go wild about Sevilla. I personally saw most of the important stuff in two days quite easily. I seem to remember you were considering going in August, no, its going to be rather hot that time of year.

I figured I will have two full days in Cordoba. The first day I have just arrived. I will think about it more.

While it's possible to see the important things in Seville in a couple of days, you may want to allow for a day or 2 of wandering.

Also, we were there in early June. The thermometer in the traffic circle said 39 degrees.

They say in summer it gets really hot. 45 degrees.

You don't get much walking done in a day in that heat.

Hi! We are actually doing the same iternary in September (with the addition of Barcelona since we fly out from there)

We are spending 3 days in Seville, 2 days in Cordoba and 2 days in Granada and then 2 days in Barcelona. We may actually use one of our 3 days in Seville for a day trip to possibly Jerez.

Everything seems to be accessible either by train (Cordoba and Seville seem to be only be 45 minutes by train apart and Cordoba to Granada is the longest with a connect in Seville so about 2-3 hours) or by air or bus.

When are going?

We are hoping to get tickets to the outdoor performance of Carcem in Seville.

Myer - I don't like to rush around when I am traveling. I simply won't enjoy it. So, maybe 5 days in Seville is right for me.

Annefirm - I was going to leave tomorrow but I had to delay my trip for couple of days. I will leave early next week. This will give me more time to research some more as well.

August is hot. You are travelling there in a much better time than me.
