How many nights in Lucerne, how many in Lauterbrunnen?
 

I have a total of 4 nights in switzerland. I am debating whether I should spend 3 nights in Lucerne and 1 night in Lauterbrunnen. Or 2 nights in Lucerne and 2 in Lauterbrunnen.I would have to book both places well ahead of time so I'm a little bit worried if I book 2 nights in Lauterbrunnen and it rains both of those days.
Please let me know your thoughts, or any advice.

What do you want to do in each place?

If you want to ascend the Jungfrau you definitely need to allow more than 1 night - we were in Interlaken 3 days before we got one with the top of the mountain clear versus stuck in the clouds.

If it rains you can take the train or lake steamer to visit many nearby charming towns - with castles, museums, small galleries etc.

And really rain only matters if you're camping - other wise just a rain jacket or umbrella and you can do everything except the tops of the mountains.
