How many hours to drive from Pisa to Munich?

HI: Leaving on Oct7 for 3 weeks flying in and out of Pisa to use Business FF miles. Planned to spend the first week in Munich on business. Would it be better to fly from Pisa ? In driving back and forth would it use most of the trip? We originally wanted to go to Cinque Terre , and the Northern cities of Italy or Cingue Terre and Sardinia. I was thinking of sending my husband by plane for business and leave me at a cooking school in the area? Any help with itinerary greatly appreciated. (have been to Pisa,Venice, Rome, Siena, Assisi most of Tuscany and Sorrento area. Thanks. Johanna

For driving directions and approximate times I suggest you go to www.viamichelin.com and input the two cities.

For possible cheap flights within Europe you can consult www.skyscanner.net

Oh my gosh, those route planners are wonderful. How close are the time estimations on the Michelin site?

We have done quite a few road trips and find that the times listed are longer than it takes us to drive (unless you run into construction or something). (I think they asume you drive the limit the whole time.)

But - obviously it doesn't include time for leg stretching, potty stops or meals.

Thanks, the times seem reasonable but my husband thought they would take longer that indicated (he normaly stretches the speed limit as far as it will go). But if the time is close then I should do well with what I have planned. zgjd

Thanks Ira,Dukey, ny traveler & zgjdenver for all the great websites. We decided to fly Luftansa (dolmanite air) from pisa to munich rt) Ryanair sounded cheap but after ones adds the additional costs and the cost of renting a car and driving from Frankfort to Munich we decided to fly directly. Thanks a lot. Johanna
