How many hours to drive from Marseille to Nice?
 

I've read in a tour book that the TGV train takes 7 hours to get from Marseille to Nice! I can't believe it would take that long. I can only assume it's because the train makes many stops. Has anyone driven between those two cities? I thought that by car it might only take 3 hours!

You have misread the details I am sure, oy you are reading the wrong book! You will find that the TGV from Nice takes 7 hours to reach Paris, not Marseille - I know that the Avignon-Paris TGV takes 3 1/4 hours so it must be about 3 hours Marseille-Nice. If you were to use the autoroute and take advantage of the speed limits you would take only a couple hours but it would be a lot longer if you were to use the coast road for sightseeing. <BR>Hope this helps <BR>Greg
