Bookchick started posting on Fodors when she was a precocious ten year old. She's not old at all.

I would like to know where is the best place to shop for light bulbs in Paris. They do take US$ for the purchase of light bulbs, don't they? Can I cash a traveler's cheque to pay for the light bulb? Can you recommend a safe, clean hotel in Paris with light bulbs that need changing?

I don't want to change the lightbulb. I didn't cause it to burn out. Why didn't the guest before me change the lightbulb?

If they had used an energy efficient green light bulb we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Easytraveler, aren't you the sweetest person! I wish that were true, alas, it isn't. But Art was my friend, and I miss him terribly. I often think of him in December, a couple of weeks prior to Christmas, as that was when his birthday was. He & I never met in person, but we were in a couple of internet communities and had e-mail correspondences and phone calls with each other. He and I didn't always see eye-to-eye on everything, but we sure managed to find a lot of common ground. He was a gentleman, and he left an incredible void on Fodors when he passed away.

Age is relative. BC and I have a standing agreement.

BC, thanks for the note about Art. The humor and kindness of this thread are a real joy. It's a good way to be remembered.
