How many days to stay in Athens and islands?
My husband and I are in the very beginning stages of planning a trip to Greece for July '07 (yes, I plan way in advance!) and I am trying to figure out how many days to stay in each place. We are both teachers and have the entire summer to travel, but we would like to stay no longer than 18 days. We would like to see Athens and some of the islands. I have read lots about Naxos, so I definitely want to go there, but do we have enough time for Santorini and Mykonos as well?

Do you have any Greek family in Athens? If not, I recommend 3 days max. The islands are much more lovely to spend time on during summer months. Athens is disturbingly hot - some days we couldn't even leave our hotel room!
3 days Athens, 4 Myknonos, 4 Santorini=11, then Naxos & Paros..
