How many days do you recommend for Edinburgh?

I will be going to edinburgh for hogmanay this year. Is 5 days ok or shall I make it 3 days in edinburgh and the rest elsewhere (perhaps london). I am not the museum going type.

why not stay 5 days but go out of Edinburgh on day trips? I'm not sure what you are interested in, in a holiday but if you give a little more info I'm sure there are plenty of people who can help with suggestions!

need, over the Hogmanay period, there are lots of really fun activities in Edinburgh. You may find that 5 days is not enough! Remember to include hangover-recovery time! On the other hand, if you yearn for sights outside the city, I agree with Fiona, there are many places to go for a daytrip. For some you would need a car, others have their own organized trip.

Edinburgh's a great city, just to BE in.

You could make do with less, but only if you have a definite alternative. Where will you be staying?

Sheila, I will be staying at the balmoral. Good choice?

Great. And I would say that it clinches the saty 5 days argument

hi,the balmoral is just wonderfull.you will need at least 5 days, there are so many things to do except museums.you will even need more than 5 days just to get a picture of the Edinburgh people, and hey, there are so many clubs, bars and places where you can "waste" your time.
I would love to be there at hogmany
