For those who wonder about hailing taxis, you can do so if you are at least 50 meters from a taxi station.

I never take taxis, but I suppose that for a lot of people -- just like eating in a restaurant every night -- it is part of the pleasure of going on holiday.

tomboy - in response to your earlier query - yes, the Mobilis is valid on metro and bus as well as RER and tramway.
