How many botttles of whiskey can we bring back with us?
Does anyone know how many bottles of liquor one can bring back from Ireland?
I know when we went to Jamaica it was 2 per person, I didn't know if that was specific to Jamaica or if that's across the board for incoming to U.S.
TIA

From what I've read, it's actually a bad idea to buy whiskey in Ireland. Not only can you get all of the major brands (and even some not-so-major brands) in the U.S. but you'll end up paying more for them since the dollar isn't doing so hot against the Euro.

and it depends on what state you are passing Customs in - different states have different allowances and different taxes to collect, though this is rarely done.
Yes there is a duty-free amount that's quite limited but like Kerouac says you can bring in more and be subject to duty - not all that much - on it. But you must declare it.
I've been in excess several times and they never made me pay duty.
Some states you may not be able to import any booze i think - not clear on this but what i remember.
Ask Customs at your airport on the way out to be sure.
