How long to allow between flights?

We plan to fly into DUB from JFK, arriving 0530, then catch a Ryanair flight out of DUB at 0650. Is it humanly possible to make the next flight? What are our chances?

your main problem isn't the 80 minutes between flights. You actually only have about 35 minutes. RyanAir has very strict check-in requirements and you must have your boarding pass before they close down the flight. Not in line, but actually checked in w/ boarding pass in hand 40 minutes before the flight. And you can't check your bags through.

And if you miss the flight you will have to buy new tickets - w/ no credit for the old ones.

Dublin isn't a huge airport, or hard to navigate - but things are really stacked against you. book a later flight.

HI S,

Not a good idea.

Thanks, janis and ira. How much time is it prudent to allow? Is 4 hrs enough?

Hi S,

4 hrs should be fine.
