How long should I stay in Ravello - Palazzo Sasso?
I am planning a trip to Capri, Positano and Ravello and am currenly booked to stay 4 nights in Positano, 3 in Capri and 3 in Ravello? I am concerned that after a night or two in Ravello, I will be too bored and there will be nothing to do. I am thinking of changing the reservation to 1 or 2 nights? Any suggestions on Ravello and the Palazzo Sasso?

If you are mainly planning to relax, do a little shopping, some cafe sitting, then your plans are ok. However, if you want to be more active, do sightseeing, etc, you should think of changing them. Both Positano and Ravello are very nice, but they are small, with not much to do in them other than poke around and relax. Capri has more "sights" and there are some good long walks/short hikes you can take. Bottom line - it depends what you are looking for, and since you have asked you may be looking for something more. If you want to stay in the same area, you can stay in Sorrento or Naples, and choose to visit from among Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mt. Vesuius, Caserta, etc.

Dear Chris,

Ravello is small, and as Howard said, it is great for relaxing and contemplating the magnificent views from its clifftop perch. However; that clifftop perch is very taxing to get up and down by car, if you want to do some sightseeing.

I think his suggestion for one night in Ravello and the remaining two in Sorrento is a good one. Herculaneum and Pompeii are not to be missed, along with the Archeological Museum in Naples. All three are easily reached from Sorrento by the Circumvesuviana (little suburban train that runs from Naples to Sorrento around the bay).
