how long is train rome to cinque terre
 

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how long the train ride is from Rome to the Cinque Terre area? We have about 3 days free before boarding a cruise and wanted to know if it was worth the train ride. Any suggestions on where to stay. Unfortunately, it's July 11th until the 14th so I know there will be a lot of tourist (like us!).

Why leave Rome whenyou ony have 3 days? There is so much to see there. Just curious.....

We spent a week in Rome last summer so we wanted to see either Cinque Terre or Almalfi Coast this time. Problem is we only have 3 days before and 3 days after the cruise.

I'd suggest the Amalfi coast if you only have 3 days- much closer. Inter-city Train to Napoli and then circumvesuviana (local train) to Sorrento
