Leaving Rome can take two hours, or it can take 15 minutes. On second thought, it is coming into rome that can be nerve-wracking, more than leaving. And finding your way into Florence can be daunting to a first timer.

If you choose, you can certainly do the autostrada portion WELL UNDER three hours, maybe even under TWO. A lot of Italians sure do.

Author: Alice Twain ([email protected])
Date: 10/15/2002, 12:41 pm
Message: Ann:

The drive from ROme to Florence take 2hours, two hours and a half at worst. Maybe even less with the new law that allows cars to reach 150 Kmph on the autostrada. Last time I had to do it, it took us 2 hours or maybe even a bit less. It is tru that it was 6am when we left, but it is also true that we still had the old law allowing less speed on the autostrada.
