How long from Place de Clichy to CDG?
 

Hi all,
My wife and I have a flight out of Paris CDG to Nice via easy jet airlines. The flight is at 6:30pm. Checkin time is from 4:30pm to 5:50pm. Do you know how long it takes to go from Place de Clichy to CDG via the RER B ?

It seems like i have to take metro line 2 from Place de Clichy to Rochechouart, Take line 4 to Gare Du Nord, then i can hop on the RER B. Is that correct?

yes, you are correct on your logistics (the station is called Barbes-Rochecouart), at least that is one way you could do it. It will take 30 minutes once you are actually on the train at Gare du Nord, I'd plan for an hour total. YOU can just get off line 2 at La Chapelle and walk to the RER B instead of doing that metro transfer, there is a tunnel, but it's a fairly long walk (the equivalent of about 300-400 meters). It's up to you, which you want to avoid, the walk or the transfer.

One more question, since ultimately i will be taking the RER, do i just buy the RER ticket when i enter the place de clichy station?

You can buy a ticket that will take you from the Place Clichy to CDG.

I am still contemplating which route to take. Either walk to the La Chapelle or take the train at Barbes-Rochecouart. Does the train at Barbes-Rochecouart come often? The only reason i would walk to La Chapelle is if I have to wait a long time for the train at Barbes-Rochecouart.

Buy the ticket at Place de Clichy (9.25€). The connecting corridor at La Chapelle to Paris-Nord is 330 meters long, but it takes you directly into the RER station. If you take metro line 4 through Barbès, you will have all sorts of other corridors and several levels to change to get to the RER.

Travel time should be about 45 minutes from Place de Clichy to CDG. Be at the end of the train leaving from Place de Clichy -- this will put you at the right spot for the connection at La Chapelle.

There could be a big problem with your plan.

According to information on the RATP site, from June 13 until September 2 La Chapelle station will be closed on Metro line 2, including closing the corridor connecting RATP to SNCF.

Damn, that screws me up, too, because I use that station every day coming from work to stop off at my mother's nursing home. Then again, the last day of work in my life is going to be June 29, so it won't bother me for long.

Well, pinglee, if you are going to be in Paris during the dates mentioned, you are going to have to go through Barbès-Rochechouart.

Alternatively, you could take bus 54 from the Place de Clichy to the Gare du Nord. It would mean using an extra metro ticket and a short walk, but would avoid all the stairs in the metro.

Ah, thanks for the information. Although i will be in Paris June 1st - June 3rd, so the station should still be open then I hope.
