How long at the Uffizi?
 

I am trying to reserve my Florence museum reservations. I was told that I should see the Uffizi and the Bargello in the same day. I have already mmade my reservations at the Uffizi for 8:30 am. Any suggestions as to when to make my reservations at the Bargello? I was thinking around 2pm so that I can enjoy the Uffizi and then have lunch, but I am completely clueless! Please help!

I think that should give you more than enough time for your visit at the Uffizi. We reserved in advance as well and went to the Uffizi in the morning, had lunch and then went to the Accademia, also reserved in advance, (which you shouldn't miss) afterwards. We didn't go as early as you and had a very leisurely, enjoyable visit at the Uffizi. 2:00 pm sounds okay to me for your reservation at the Bargello.

Your schedule sounds good. However, that's a lot of art museums in one day. Assuming you have more than one day in Florence, I'd break it up. Maybe go to the Boboli in the afternoon. Or up to Piazza Michelangelo and San Miniato.

The Uffizi will take about 2-2:30 hr.

I think that the Bargello is open only until about 13:30.

You probably won't need to make reservations at the Bargello. We have never had reservations and just walked in easily. Be sure to check out the days and hours it is closed.

At the Uffizi, it took me four hours to go through the audiophone descriptions plus observe a little on my own, and I wasn't being slow. But it's true not everyone will want to listen to every audiophone description.

We made reservations for bargello last month but there was no line so we just went in. Bargello does close at 1:50 pm so last entrance is about 1:20. Everyone in our group really liked Bargello there was something for everyone.

I agree with the others, you should have plenty of time but DO NOT MISS the Accademia. Also, the Duomo museum (on the street behind the Cathedral) was well worth the trip. The original Baptistry panels are displayed there. I didn't have a reservation, just walked in.

We spent a little over three hours at the Uffizi last May, though reversing your schedule a bit. We did the Accademia first thing, followed by climbing the Duomo, then Santa Croce and a leisurly lunch nearby at Osteria de Benci (excellent wine drenched pasta). We hit the Uffizi around 3 with reservations so there was no wait at all. We caught the Bargello the next day spening about 1 1/2 hour there. We loved everything we saw (and ate).
