How long are Eiffel Tower lines at 4pm mid July

Another question about the trip I'm helping someone plan. The day they were planning on going to the top of the Eiffel Tower all of the reserved slots are taken. This will be mid-July this summer and I think they'd arrive at the tower around 4pm. How long are the lines at that time? There are reserved slots the next two days but it doesn't fit so well in their plans. I'm thinking an hour wait is doable...but not 2 to 3 hours.

I cannot help with an estimate of the wait time but if time is tight I would book a "Skip the Line Tour" and not have to worry about it. I would not want to wait an hour or more to go up when my vacation time is so precious.

All of the Skip The Line tours are sold out on the day they'd like to get. I'm trying to understand if they just get in line what they're in for.

That seems surprising. I'm sorry I can't help.

Hi, we went to Paris last summer and my son REALLY wanted to go to the top. The reservations were all sold out for all the days of our trip.

We went by around 2 pm in early July on a weekday. We were told it would be hours if we got in at all. So we took some quick pictures and I asked a security guard my best options. He suggested we come back the next day around 8 am and stand in line. They let us in by around 8:30 and we didn't wait much more to go pay.

There's no way anyone can tell you for sure, but unless it is pouring rain, quite possibly, even likely, it will be many hours.

Thanks for the info. I talked them into changing their itinerary so they could get the reserved tickets on their last day.

There are two lines you have to consider. The line through security and the line to get up the tower. Last January it took us 45 mins to get through both lines. We went a few mins before the opening time.

OR netter yet, skip going up the ET, and go to the top of the Montparnasse Tower instead - better views and almost no waiting.>

and a saying is that the best view of Paris is from the Tour Montparnasse because that's the only place you can't see the soare-thumb tower itself and can see the Eiffel.
