How long & what would the cost be for a taxi between Cannes and Monaco????

We are going for the evening as we have dinner reservations at the Paris Hotel & go to the Casino. I heard we shouldn't drive - too congested and it is May 29 so in in the Grand Prix wk. Does anyone know if this transportation could be set up prior to us leaving the states? We are staying in a villa in Cannes.

Maybe you're trying to be a little more formal, but you can take a train with no changes in about an hour, very frequent departures. To be honest, the taxi is going to be just as bad as your attempts to drive -- the traffic will be a nightmare.

Did I remember correctly that it costs 60 euros from Nice airport to Monaco. if so, a taxi to Cannes will costs more. Just get a map and measure the distance and you will probably have a rough guess.

I'm with Patrick.<BR><BR>We stayed in Nice and trained to Cannes in under 30 minutes. In the other direction it's about 20 min from Nice to Monaco.<BR><BR>

I am with Hiroshi about the cost. A cab for friend from Beaulieu to the casino cost friends at least $35 one way and it is a lot closer than Cannes.<BR><BR>The train is easy, reasonable, quick.

you may want to think about taking the helicopter. you will be living large anyway, may as well do it in style. <BR><BR>I don't know the Cannes/Monaco price, but it was around 100 bucks or so Nice/Monaco. A taxi is going to be expensive anyway, and a nightmare to get in and out, so I'd opt for the helicopter. (make reservations soon).

Originally we were going to take the helicopter but found out it was $220 per person each way, due to it being Grand Prix week. At this point, we will take the train from Cannes to Monaco, but will take the taxi back because last train is like 10pm and it will be around midnight when we leave. I just have to find out where the train lets us off in Monaco as we need to be at the Paris hotel. Does anyone know? And anyone have a better website for that train.

You can find a map of Monaco at<BR><BR>http://www.lonelyplanet.com/mapshells/europe/monaco/monaco.htm<BR><BR>According to www.bahn.de the last train back is at 23:58, so you might be able to make that one.

<BR><BR>Given that it's Grand Prix Week, you can rest assured that trafffic will be a bear. Whenever I've been there, nothing special was going on, but the traffic was always bad.

I looked up this website www.bahn.de but it was in German, couldn't understand anything. Now the map is great at http://www.lonelyplanet.com/mapshell...aco/monaco.htm but I couldn't tell where the train stop is at. Sorry and I really appreciate your help with this.

If you go to www.bahn.de and click on &quot;Int. Guests&quot; it will come up in English. Or else try <BR><BR>http://www.rail.ch/pv/index_e.htm<BR><BR>The train station is sort of in the upper middle on the map, just to the right of the &quot;Jardin Exotique.&quot; I believe the Hotel de Paris is near the Casino.
