How L O N G is the train ride from Nice to Barcelona?
If anyone has this information, I'd really appreciate it. Can't seem to get a good handle on it anywhere else. Also any suggestions on towns to stop in along the way. Many thanks!

The shortest ones seem to be about 10 and a half hours to 11 and a half hours. All require change of trains, either in Montpelier only or in Marseilles and Narbonne, among other possibilities. All three of those change cities are interesting.

You could fly (<i>fairly</i> affordably) in five hours (maybe less time and less money; I didn't research it exhaustively) on virginexpress.com - - through BRU for example - - for 149 euro.
Looking through www.whichbudget.com might disclose some connection even cheaper and shorter.
Surprisingly, the VE connection didn't show up on www.opodo.com (or maybe none of their flights do) - - it IS a publishyed connection on their website - - not a "strung together" pair of flights (as you might be able to assemble from easyjet or ryanair or other "non-connecting" airlines).
Best wishes,
Rex
