How is the traffic in Rome on Saturday morning (early September)?

Hi,

I want to know how the traffic in Rome on Saturday morning (early September).
The reason of asking is that we will catch our flight (at 12:30pm) back home on early Sep (a Saturday).
We are deciding on using a limo services or catching a train.
We are group of 8 and the hotel is close to Termini.

Taking the express train from Termini cost 14euro/person... more expensive than a limo service (around 60-80 euro for 8 people).

If taking limo, we want to know how much time we have to prepare for traffic jams etc.

Thanks for the help.

Terry

When we have booked airport transportation we asked what pickup time the service recommended. Three tries and all have worked out fine. Traffic in Rome...

Leave your hotel at 9.00 and you'll likely be at the airport by 9.30, give or take 15mins for location of hotel.

You need to be checking in around 10am.

As bob and mike have said, the company will advise a time as they know distances, etc. But if you want to make it earlier you can.

We were there in May, left THU 26th in Limo - Driver drives like most others did - FAST. We were on road at 0600 and stayed not far from Spanish Steps. Took about 30 minutes.
TAKE A LIMO - the Mercedes van holds '7' according to the contract - so be sure you have that straight when you set up, although we had only six we had lots of luggage due to being gone 2 weeks - a cruise other side trips.
