I know it won't and it was never intended to. I was highlighting a particular part of the OP's itinerary in the hope that they'd study a map of the UK a bit more, take on board the wealth of local advice provided on this thread and work out for themselves why their idea is not a good one.

I don't know why you find it necessary to nit pick on other people's comments so much. Your constant spats with PalenQ for example are one of the reasons I don't frequent this forum much.

I too live in the UK and travel regularly in the south of England. Obviously, Nottinghill, Edinborough and the Kids parties have no effect on the OPs plan.

LHR is just off the M25 and the junctions of the M4 and M3. Depending on the time of day these points are critical to the movement of traffic and if you lose one you lose at least one other. So staying near LHR comes with a lot of problems. If I had to do this sort of trip I'd choose a smaller zone for my holiday and base nearer to them.

For example

Portsmouth/Winchester/New Forest (just picking up that idea) would be a nice combo for three days. Base somewhere interesting say Brockenhurst (not Lyndhurst that has a nightmare traffic problem 365 days a year) and travel around.

Then move somewhere else can I suggest to Dorset. Visit Jurassic coast/tank museum/ancient castles/ etc, base in Wareham or Wimborne. 3 days done
Go home

I don't think the traffic situation will be a lot worse than normal, it is just that normally the system is pretty busy, once you go over the capability of the system you get break-down.

The OP is simply not interested in practical solutions -- she wants validation of her unfortunate ideas.

And when someone posts daft, out of date advice, allowing it to stand without challenge is just a disservice to people needing useful advice.

I can't see any daft or out of date advice on this thread. My comment regarding Portsmouth to Bath was not daft, out of date, impractical or of no use so why you felt it necessary to point out that it is not helpful for the OP's plans regarding Rochester or Suffolk is beyond me. It's not helpful to anyone, it's simply nit picking for the sake of it.

I could be rude and blunt and tell the OP that their plan is stupid but what purpose would that serve other than the likelihood that they'll never return to these forums? What I did was offer the OP an alternative method of exploring two of their destinations in the hope that they might look into their plans in more detail and reach the conclusion themselves that their intiial plan was not a good idea. If the OP wants to question my suggestion then that's their prerogative, there was nothing incorrect or misleading in it so I don't need other people telling me that my post was unhelpful particularly when it was anything but.
