I clicked on Robes still active name, and many of the threads he commented on are relatively recently active.

<<I saw a post by Robespierre above. Didn't he pass away?>>

I believe he did.

In 2005, W was president.

The Mets could play decent baseball.

Steves was married to his first wife.

We were fighting in Afghanistan. (Wait, we're still doing that.)

IMHO the best guide books for sights are the Michelin green guides - actually more info than you already know.

Can't comment on Steeeeves - since we don;t travel in his style and to someone who has done more than a little travel his level of info is useless and sometimes insulting. (Personally I also find him creepy and think there may be kids buried in his back yard.)

Have not looked at a Frommer's since Pauling took over - but I disagree with her a lot about NYC - so probably won't bother. (And since they changed the website I can no longer get in - and have abandonned the attempt. It's basically moribund anyway - esp for the US).

I am with janisj here.

Why are ancient threads being resurrected? How is anyone even finding them? I thought Fodorites had put a nail in the RS coffin about 8 years ago.
