How far in advance to purchase airline tickets LAX to CDG

I know no one has a crystal ball, but based on your experience when should tickets be purchased?
looking at business class tickets on Air France from LAX to CDG direct flight in late Sept/ Oct return.
cheapest is $3,800, which seems like a good price compare to other airlines with non direct flights.
Any help or experience with this will be greatly appreciated!

You should have purchased them about a month ago. Air France is now booking return flights for Nov 5.

So two different opinions! Do you book your tickets this far out, Stu?
to get the flights and the price...reason to book now?

On United for Oct travel from SFO, basic economy is 607 RT. Normal economy is 727 RT. When we booked a month ago, premium Economy was less that normal economy. We fly to France twice a year. These prices are the best we've seen in the past 5 years. Why not book ASAP. You can choose your seats and get even better value.

Air Tahiti Nui is generally considerably cheaper than Air France, and it is excellent.
