Planning June 2018 trip to Positano for a week. How far in advance do we need to book a villa or hotel??

Positano is likely very popular in June. It depends how picky you are, we book our accommodations as soon as we have our dates, especially in places like Amalfi Coast or Provence that are very popular and we want views etc.

You'll find that the better hotels in Positano can book up around 12 months in advance (and more) and the same is true of the apartments and villas in the area. If you know your dates, book now.

You need to get on it ASAP. Go to a booking engine and see what's left! Many hotels get booked up to a year ahead. Good luck!

At least 6 months--if you want some choice.

Many people book their hotels for the next year while still at the hotel this year. I would contact hotels directly if you can't see dates available online. It depends on the hotel but some do not display dates that far in advance, etc....so if there is a place you are interested in, reach out to the hotel directly.

Many people who rent out villas on the Amalfi coast own them but only spend one month a year in them -- needless to say, they pick the nicest months to enjoy them for themselves. Some websites allow you to search by availabilty for your dates alone. That way you don't see the ones that are already booked. Saves you time.

I usually book my apartment 10 months in advance - as soon as I know my vacation dates.
