How far ahead can you buy TGV Avignon to Paris tickets?
Can you only buy within a 90 day window or does someone have other information. I wnat to secure first class from Avignon to Paris in Oct but I doen't see how that is possible now. Any hints? Are there more than one station in Avignon? Thanks again!

Hi Peggy. I believe the normal TGV tickets are available only 90 days out but idTGV's you can get up to 6 months out (check idtgv.com for more info).
I am just buying my Paris to Avignon TGV tickets today for May 26, because today is the first day I can buy them.

idTGV is just a marketing tool I think, but an interesting one. The idTGV trains are basically the same trains as the other regular TGVs, but they offer a specific "ambiance" for your 2.5 hour ride!! You can choose either idZen which is "relaxing" or idZap which is "entertaining." But the downside is there are fewer trains which offer these services. For example traveling to Avignon there is only a 7:54 a.m. departure from Paris and then not another one until 8:20 p.m. So, you might want to wait til 3 months out and just book a regular TGV train if you don't care about the "ambiance" so much because there will be many more train times to choose from.

I should add that is what happened to me - neither the 7:54 a.m. or the 8:20 p.m. train times were desireable for me, so I waited until the regular TGV trains were open for booking and am taking the 2:20 train from Paris and paying 50 euros for first class (as opposed to 48 euros for second class!) These are PREMS fares and I hope they are good and that I didn't get "ripped off!"
