How Far Ahead Can You Book On Trenitalia?
Is it the usual 60 days? Will be purchasing tickets for a trip Milan-Venice.
Thanks very much. |

Yes it is 60 days out from your travel date. You don't really need to pre-book them though, I'd just buy them when I arrive in Italy.

Thanks very much for your help.

If you're going to spend at least one night in Milan, you may be able to get Amica fares (20% discount). If any of the allotted seats are available, you can get Amica fares up until midnight of the day before departure.

Actually, i am planning to connect from the CityNightLine service from Amsterdam which arrives in the AM.
I tried registering on Trenitalia and was told a password had been mailed. of course it hasn't arrived, proabbly never will, so i'll probably just wait and book the tickets when i get to the railway office at Schiphol. the CityNightLine tickets were booked with Germanrail and mailed to me..so much easier to deal with. Again, thanks for the information and suggestions. |
RR office at Schiphol told me last Jan they only book tickets involving travel in Netherlands - CNL yes but not the Italian connection - at least that's what they told me when i was taking a CNL to Zurich and wanted to make a reservation from there to Milan (i had a railpass but same with regular tickets they said) Sucks if you ask me
and leave time for CNL to be late if pre-booking onward connections Q - what CNL train goes to Milan? curious |
Your e-mail password/registration likely went to your spam folder or was deleted by your ISP without even sending it to spam. Try an e-mail address that won't do that.
Everyone worries too much about advance tickets. You can easily purchase at the train stations. If you want the Amica discount, you must purchase at least 24 hours in advance if it's still available. |
If you are using an AOL e-mail, try setting up an email account with yahoo. Aol mail and Trenitalia mail don't seem to get along.

If you really want to save money don't take the EuroStar trains on that route and hop on the cheaper i think IC trains that don't require reservations and are marginally slower
anyway either way the fare is so cheap just buy in Milan IMO |
Thank you all again for your wonderful helpful suggestions.
