thx Kerouac & MorganB! Was wondering if the trains would be running yet, but since we don't need to arrive so early, this will mostly likely be our best bet

The metro starts running at approximately 5:30. The stations open around 5:00.

Actually, the RATP site says that the first train passes Hôtel de Ville at 5:44 and gets to Gare de Lyon at 5:49.
