How do you pronounce this section of Rome?

We are staying at a hotel that is at the precise corner (according to my DK map) of where the Capitol, Forum and Quirinal areas meet.

Can someone please tell me how to pronounce, "Quirinal"? Is it kweer-i-nall? Is it keer-i-nal? Or ?

After reading Rick Steve's cute little prose on Italian pronunciations (C sounds like C in Cat, but followed by an E or I sounds like CH in chance; CH sounds like C in Cat; SC usually sounds like SK in skip, but followed by an I or E sounds like SH in shape), well you can understand why I am confused, can't you??? :)

Anyone? :)

I believe it is kweer-i-nall. At least that's what it sounded like to me. In Italian every sound is pronounced. keer-i-nal would not be pronouncing the "u".

It's "kweer-i-nal-e" ("e" sound is pronounced as the e in "bed"- "Quirinale" is the word in Italian-and it is the official residence of the President of Italy, and sits on the hill of the same name. "Quirinal" is the English word.

The dough-faced ploughman walked through the field coughing and hiccoughing.
