How do you pronounce San Gimignano, Italy?

You know, the beautiful little town in Tuscany with all the medieval towers. Is it "jimmy-john-oh"?? I hate to go somewhere and really mangle the name. Any help from Italian travelers?

This is hardly scientific, but try:

gee-mee-nyah-noh

I second the USNR reply. Anytime you see GN together, it is a Y.

I think they're both close enough.

I agree. Both are close enough.
