How do you find Fodorites when traveling?

I can't think of anything in particular but I would assume Fodors would want their name on it for the advertising impact. I just think it would be nice to have to help identify those other fodorites out there if I happen to see it. I am sure there are others on this forum who can come up with much better ideas for what the pin should actually say than I could. I hope they will chime in with suggestions. Perhaps you could start a thread asking if others are interests and asking for suggestions as to what it should say? Get a few good suggestions and let everyone "vote" for their favorite and go with that?

The best way to find other fodorites while traveling is to set up a get together, whether it's for dinner or drinks or dessert. I do this on all my trips, plus host luncheons where I live (since 1999).
As for pins, I still have mine but I don't wear it often on my trips because "stick" part of the pin is too long and goes beyond the backing. I like the idea of travel luggage tags (I have a TTG luggage tag). On Trip Advisor, I've gotten hats (would never wear it though) and nylon backpacks.

Katie - What happened to the little flying man icon (I think it was a man?)that was on the original pins and on the website?
goddess - I have a TTG luggage tag and the bright neon Fodor's tags. You need to go to a GTG to get some neon tags.

The little man was from awhile back---he was a part of the logo here on the site. For branding purposes, I don't think we'd use that particular icon again.
I'll start something in the Lounge about the buttons. Sorry to hijack the thread!

I got one of those too-orange bags at a get-together; so did a bunch of other people. So it might not be Katie walking around with one.
Padraig, we're not all so bad.
But the first time I went to a get-together, I had a pact with the (yes, total) stranger I was driving with: if the people turned out to be ax-murders, or more likely just boring, we'd sneak out. We didn't. And those people have become friends.

I have one of those orange bags too! And also a couple of orange luggage tags.
But, I also have the extra special GTG bag (black cloth tote) from the Pasadena GTG last May (mainly Asia forum) with the fodors user names of all the attendees printed on the outside of the bag!
Never have seen the pins before.

I'm quite sure of that, or I would have quit the forum long ago.
There is always some risk in meeting up with people that you know only through their online persona. I'm not talking of safety issues, because if you are sensible in your arrangements, that need not be a concern. It's simply that you might not like the real person as much as you like the online persona.
