How do you find a hotel? I have been trying to find a hotel in Sorrento (/or around) and my back is killing me now.....:)
I have been trying to find a hotel that is not way out there (100-150 EUR) somewhere around the Amalfi coast, maybe Sorrento and have not had much luck....
Any suggestions?
Honestly, my back is killing me...I have been sitting in front of my pc for the past 3-4 hours...
Am I sad or what?! And please be nice, please....

Do you mean 100-150 is your budget or you think 150 is "way out there"?

This place was very nice -- maybe half a mile out of town, walkable (uphill) or you can get there on the city bus. Great views from the rooms and fabulous bathrooms! http://www.hotelminervasorrento.com/

We stayed her in June and it was wonderful and in your price range.

It is in the hills above town and they have a shuttle going back and forth.
They have amazing views and a FABULOUS and reasonable restaurant with a balcony overlooking Sorrento.
I recommend it 100%.

This is a nice little hotel in Marina Grande, a pleasant walk, though hilly, West of the main piazza. We took the bus but then realized that it was very walkable without pulling suitcases.

Ever thought about staying in a convent? I'm thinking about it for Sorrento. LA CULLA CONVENT in Sorrento is in an 18th Century villa, with a grove of orange trees, terraces and gazebo with a beautiful sea view, AND it's smack in the middle of town-train station 250 meters away.
Doubles at this convent are 105E a night, with breakfast, 55E for singles.

Having only visited Sorrento once this past November, we were very satisfied with the location and accommodations at the Hotel Villa di Sorrento. In the off season a double room which included breakfast was 90 euros per night. Their email address is [email protected]. I believe that is a travel company located just off their lobby. Deborah

I don't believe somebody else stayed at Villa di Sorrento (DeborahAnn).
We stayed there on two trips.
Very small rooms. Absolutely excellent location.
Yes, Belmare-travel appears to be in the office off the lobby of the hotel.
It's 50 yards from the main square. Just far enough to avoid noise.
On the second trip we had a room on the 4th floor (elevator) that has a patio looking down on the square. You can see a bit of the bay.
Breakfast was included and very good.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the train (Pompeii, etc) and at the top of the stairs/winding road down to the marina for boats to Capri, Amalfi coast, etc.
I would stay there again.

Yep, I thought it was a great location. We loved Sorrento too. Guess that secures my place in the Sorrento vs Positano wars
I was quite happy on the 2nd floor until one day I looked up and saw a room had a PATIO and a view. oh, well, next time; Sorrento is a place to which I would love to return. Deborah

My success in finding great hotels and bed and breakfasts whereever we travel is on tripadvisor.com. This website is nothing but reviews by the consumer so you not only find the real scoop, but lots of tips and ideas. Through the consumer ratings, each place is given a number. We often stay in one of the top 10 in the town and never one of the more expensive ones. We have the same price limits as you. Check it out!!
