How do you book a last minute trip?
We are thinking about taking a trip for our anniversary in June. Don't want to spend a fortune but thought that if we could get cheap airfare we could just go and make it a last minute fling! Where do you look for things like that? What is the timing? How close to departure date do you dare to go? Thanks.

There are several internet sites, like Site59.com, which will list last minute trips at reduced prices.
The closer to the departure date, may get you a better bargain.
If you do not have a specific place in mind, you may get a very nice vacation for a good price.

Hi AGM,
Do a daily check (about 1:00 AM) on the usual websites
See http://www.bookingbuddy.com/?source=...=BBSearch_Home)
Any ideas of where you want to go?

Many people like to find air/hotel packages. Go-today.com is often mentioned for these as is site59. The airlnes are another place to check. Also, if you're willing to make a connection, you might find a great deal flying into London or Germany (Lufthansa) & use one of the low cost airlines like easy jet, ryanair etc.to get to Paris. There are a few websites for these cheap inter Europe airlines. The ones I know are applefares.com and skyscanner.com but there may be others now that are better.
I would set up a farewatcher for your route on travelocity.com You can also look on travelocity's "dream maps"-it's at the very bottom of their home page I think. You'll see the current lowest fares from your departure city to any place in Europe. Remember though once you see a fare you like on travelocity, try that airline's own website which will probably be a few dollars cheaper.
As far as timing, Tues. nites midnight are often when prices change.
