How do we best make use of just a few hours in Bologna?

We will be doing what I usually do not do. We will be taking a day trip from Rome to Bologna. I know it's long, but I do not know when I will get back to Italy again, and I want to see it. The train will arrive in Bologna Centrale at 11:20 am and we will leave a little after 8 PM. Help me plan my day!

You did great when we had a few hours in Milan. Help again.

Dear Debby,
Is this your real email address? If so, I can send you an article I have written on exactly this topic (how to spend a day in Bologna).

Santa Chiara, I too would like to see a copy of your article. We were in Bologna in October and may be returning there in 2003. I'd like to know what we missed! Thanks.

* Go to Salumeria Tamburini and eat.
* "Attend" the old University of Bologna, including the anatomy lecture hall (just off Piazza Maggiore, adjacent to the Duomo)
* Climb Torre del Asinelli, and eat at the top, admiring the view.
* Eat, eat, eat, and eat some more (just in general)
* Drink real Lambrusco wine.
* Eat some more.
