who knows what will happen. U can travel western europe as a US citizen and never need a visa if u travel from country to country, never staying more than 90 days. Who says u were not country hopping!?

So if you are asked about your recent travels at a border crossing, are you going to lie about it? Theoretically you could have landed in a Schengen country, and then gone to the Ivory Coast, Australia, Vietnam and New Guinea before returning to the Schengen country, or some other combination, but I would hope someone would not make up a travel itinerary that they hadn't done if a government official asks him.

I don't know. I might say I traveled by train around Europe, as some others have suggested.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

It is never, ever a good idea to lie to a customs or immigration officer in any country. They have a lot more experience ferreting out liars than you have lieing, and they can make your life hell -- legally.

Hope to get through. If you don't, pay the fine and count yourself lucky.
