How Do I Get the Rail Europe Sale Price?

Hi Fodorite Friends, Yahoo Top 20 travel picks included a 25-euro sale price on the TGV recently. The dates and cities coincide with our trip but when I tried to order the Nice to Paris tickets, the full price kept coming up. There was a space for a Special Offer Code but no code that I could see. Has anyone any concrete suggestions? I have email Rail Europe but only received their automated response. Thanks as always!

You need visit the France National Rail site, www.sncf.com, and see if PREM tickets are available for the date you wish to travel. They can be ordered up to 90 days in advance. Seats are limited and sell out quickly. Choose France as the country in which you will pick up your tickets, but then simply print them yourself. The site is viewable in English.

I agree with TimS. Always check SNCF first - no markups there and often even better PREM fares.

Thanks. Will try SNCF first. Still hoping to find a special offer code.

If you absolutely want some sort of "special offer" code from RailEurope do NOT waste any more time with e-mail..go to their website and CALL them. You'll probably get better prices by using the SNCF site, however.
