HOW DO I GET ON THE WEB IN PARIS?
 

Greetings - <BR> <BR>I'm so excited I can't stand it! <BR> <BR>We leave on Sunday for 6 days in Paris but are wondering about getting on the Internet. <BR> <BR>My husband is heavily involved in the stock market and watches his account like a hawk. And, as nature would have it, next week is the end of the quarter when lots of announcements are made and the quarterly reports are issued. <BR> <BR>He would like to be able to get on the web in the afternoon when the market is opening here to check on his account. Does anyone know of any "Cybercafes??" <BR> <BR>Any suggestions would be appreciated. <BR> <BR>Thanks, Lynn

The apartment is on the Rue de l'Ecole Polytechnique, in the Latin Quarter, and she says there was a cybercafe next door. Rates were 25ff for half an hour, 40ff for an hour, which seems quite reasonable to me. She didn't tell me the name of the cafe, but if you want to contact her let me know & I'll give you her e-mail address. I know there are other similar places, but can't put my finger on them at the moment. I know one near my office on rue de Médicis (opposite Luxembourg gardens). Don't forget public libraries, university libraries, and even some museums as potential sources of free internet access.

Hi! <BR> <BR>The Louvre has a "Computer Louvre Tour" area below the Louvre. It is a small room filled with computers that allow you to view works of art, locate them, read their stories, etc. They have a handout of the cybercafes in Paris; all you need to do is ask! <BR>

We were recently in Paris and found a very funky internet cafe. I can't remember the name but it was very close to Republic. It wasn't expensive at all. Go to the tourist info centre on the Champs Elysee as the have complete listings of all the internet cafes and their opening hours. the lacy we spoke to was very helpful.
