How do I get from Milan airport to Port of Genoa?
Help. I need to get to Port of Genoa from Malpensa airport. I was going to use the cruise transfers but they want to charge me the same for a one way as a round trip. I find this ridiculous.
I have a 73 YO with me and we will be arriving late afternoon in Milan after three flights to get us there. I booked an airport hotel to give mom some time to rest and we will leave for Genoa the next day.
The trains are a hassle in this case because of bags so I need a better option.
thanks!

Hi kf,
I don't think that there are any cheap airfares from MXP to GOA.
You might wish to look into hiring a limo.
Also, take your question to www.slowtrav.com.

Thanks, Ira, slowtrav was my first thought but it would not let me post this morning.
I have also been looking for cheap flights from MXP to FLorence. Any thoughts?
I am travelling with my mom and am just trying to make it easy on her.
The limo quotes were over 300Euro, more than my hotel for 3 nights!

There's a bus from Malpensa to Genoa:
Leaves from Terminal 1 - Exit 4 - Stop 17
Schedule: 11.30 or 20.00
Frequency: Every day
Price: Malpensa-Genoa € 15,50
Tickets: Airport 2000 (which I understand is a fairly well marked booth at the Arrivals level in Terminal 1)
Note: It makes two stops before Genoa at Casale Monferrato and Alessandria
As you're staying overnight at an airport hotel, you can check at the Airport 2000 booth when you arrive to make sure that the schedule has not changed.

Here's a Web site with more detail about the Malpensa-Genoa bus:
www.statturismo.com/orari/malpensa.htm
It also stops at Terminal 2 at Malpensa, in case that is closer to your hotel. And it stops at two points in Genoa; one might be closer to the port than the other, or perhaps it would be best to ask where it would be easier to get a taxi to go to the port.
