How do I cut and paste URLS?

Sorry, new to this-- How do I cut and paste because I do not have the little scissors and clipboard icons?

Thanks.

The easiest way is to highlight the text by holding down the rith mouse button and dragging the cursor over the text. Then you hit {control} C for Copy then you can highlight the area in the address field at the top of your browser and hit {Contro} V for Paste. Then you hit {Enter} and your browser should take you there. This is very useful on this forum since Fodors doesn't automatically recognize hypertext.

Try it you will like it!!!

Ciao,

Randy Smith

I think he meant to say hold down you left mouse (or at least on my computer)

ALso your browser should have a menu bar on the top. One of the choices is Edit, under that is Cut and Paste which works same as scissors & clipboard (and Control-C & V).

A related question...

I know this board must be html-compatible since I've been able to use html tags to put words in i>italics (and I presume boldface will work as well.)

However, when I tried to use html tags to create an embedded hyperlink here, that didn't work. Has anyone been able to do that, or know if it's possible? It sure would make getting to another website a lot easier.

Thanks!

Ooops, let me try that again...

italics and boldface

Highlight the text you want copied by holding down the left mouse button as you move it over the text. The text becomes blue. Point to the text and do a right click with your mouse. A dialog box pops up, Left click on copy with your mouse. Then move to the document where you wish to copy the text to, right click again, but this time select paste. The copied text will appear on your new page.

Does the HTML coding for italics work?
So bold works here, but not italics Aug 15th, 2002 04:20 AM

Or am I doing something wrong?
Cam you combine italics and the € to make Aug 15th, 2002 04:23 AM

This is more interesting than what I do for a living.

Hey, we have bold! Cool! Wonder how that works on a Mac? I think we had hyperlinks for about two days a long time ago when the board was going through one of its permutations. Would love to have that capability again.

I will crack up if it does.
Aug 15th, 2002 06:25 AM

Since
didn't work.

I'll be surprised if this works too.
No Aug 15th, 2002 06:31 AM

Apparently nobody ever thought to try this before.

Wonder what happens if you try using it as a new mesage header?
xxx Aug 15th, 2002 06:36 AM

You get a post with no message header.

Like a secret club!

Add to it here if you wish.

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessages.jsp?fid=2&tid=1400661
I thought that in order to COPY an individual thread's URL, that you put you "copied the shortcut". For example, this topic is
http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessages.jsp?fid=2&tid=1295939&numresponses=17&s tart=0

Now I'm still trying to work through the above instructions on creating a hyperlink, bold & italics ...

OK Aug 15th, 2002 08:40 AM

I have no idea if this will work, but I have to try.
