How Difficult is it to Buy Tickets to a La Scala Performance?

We (family of four) will be in Milan for one or more nights on our trip to Italy next June, and my husband would love to attend a performance at La Scala. I can arange our itinerary so we will be there on a night they are performing Romeo and Juliet, which our daughters will enjoy since they both were pretty serious at ballet (until age 13 or so). My husband said he would even carry a suit on this trip if we can go.

My question is, how tough is it to get the tickets? If we go on the website the day the tickets go on sale (I believe it's 1 or 2 months in advance), are we likely to be able to buy four tickets? Or do they all get snapped up in the first few minutes of avialability?

Also, are all the ballet performances in La Scala itself, or do they schedule them in an alternate venue, such as Arcimboldi?

Thanks for your help.

You can check out the performance schedule and buy tickets online on La Scala's website here... http://www.teatroallascala.org/en/index.html
There appears to be a robust schedule of performances in June so you should do well.

Excellent--thank you!

The kind of seats available to occasional audiences are likely to be in Loge on an upper deck with a limited view of the stage.

So most of the seats belong to season ticket holders? Is that true for ballet performances as well as opera?

OK---I found the date the tickets for this ballet go on sale.

Does anyone know if the internet sales open up at midnight (Milan time) on the appointed day? They have a Rolex facsimile keepig the time on the website, so I'm wondering if that is an indication.
