How big are the seats on iceland air?
My parents and I booked our flight to Brussels on Iceland with a layover in Reyjavik. I am just wondering how big the seats would be in Economy class on a 757. I hear they are small, but just wondering since I weigh over 300 pounds. Thanks!

You MIGHT get some information if you look at www.seatguru.com

I think there is very little chance that you will be confortable in any economy seat - and I would assume that you need to buy a seat belt extender and bring it with you- if you are to fit in the seat at all. (Unless you are about 7 feet tall, in which case you will have a whole other set of problems.)
When was the last time you flew in an economy seat - and did you fit then? |
Here's the link to Iceland Air on seatguru.com http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Ice...ng_757-200.php I have flown twice with them. They get you where you want to go. They are very basic. The seats did have seatback screens on our second flight last February. They sell food and beverages. They do give you water. The seats are quite cramped, however you do a stopover in Reykjavik which is a relatively short trip from Boston, where we depart from. This gives you an opportunity to stretch your legs before you head to your destination.

Per seatguru, they are 17.2", which is about the same or a bit better than economy seats on most airbus and boeing planes and most airlines, which vary from 17" to 17.5" in economy.
On Icelandair, you may want to upgrade to Economy Comfort which has 20" seat. |
In March of 2010 we flew British Airways to London. It was a 777 so that is about 17.5" and I fit just fine. I needed a seatbelt extender on the wayover and on the way back we flew a 757. I have lost about 25 pounds since then, so I hope I am okay.
