House or Apt Rentals in Ireland

Can anyone provide information for travel agencies or otherwise that can help locate a suitable house or apartment for rent on the west coast of Ireland (Galway, etc.) for 1 or 2 weeks during the summer of 2004? Something suitable needed for couple + 3 kids.

Thanks for any help.

Check the Irish Tourist Board web site (www.ireland.travel.ie)for their extensive list of self-catering properties all over Ireland.

I used West Coast Holiday Villages to book a house on the West Coast for New Year. Their website is www.irish-selfcatering.com and they were very helpful.

Chezzle - Is the house in Dingle that you are referring to in walking distance of pubs/restaurants/shops? Would Dingle be a good location for exploring the Ring of Kerry as well?
THANKS!

Although it is a short walk to town....I wouldn't do it with kids.Narrow road with cars whizzing by.As for exploring the Ring,it's doable. So is Cork,Bantry ,Tralee and Killarney.

Hi...I second MaryZ recommendation for the ITB. You can call or e-mail them for a request on all self-catering properties...they send quite an extensive package. I used them on a trip a few years ago and stayed in a wonderful house in the town of Rossaveal in Galway. The house had 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 sitting rooms, dining room, big eat-in kitchen. laundry room and was on 7 acres of land. Minutes drive to catch the ferry to the Arran Islands. Check it out at

The owner is a sweetheart!!!!
Good luck!

The Irish Tourist Board accommodation is checked regularly and the three cottages and one apartment (Dublin) we took for a week each were immaculate. Highly recommended.
