House of Lords

Does anyone know if there is still a viewing area for tourists at the House of Lords. I remember years ago on a student trip having seen a bit of a session of the House of Lords and found it to be quite interesting to see. Now I'm going with my own kids and I think it would be interesting for them since they have studied some British Parliamentary history. Hope someone can help with that! Thanks

Yes - and if they are both in session, you can view both the House of Lords and the House of Commons. With access to both houses, you will see the difference - the decoration of the House of Lords is much richer than the House of Commons. A warning- sometimes there is quite a line outside of Parliament. Only a certain number of people are let in at one time. During our most recent trip in June, we had to wait nearly an hour because a school trip and a what appeared to be a group of constituents were taken in before those waiting on line.

If you tell me when you're going (and you don't want a tour) I'm pretty sure I can wangle you some tickets. By email please
