The U.S. Postal Service has some really nice items for small gifts. Look for the magnets of the different states (the antique postcard series) and, my favorite, the one depicting planting the flag at Ground Zero. Even some of the animal stamp series would be good gifts, especially for kids. I've also taken turquoise and silver earrings and spur key rings for people who like the American West. Inexpensive photo books of your state or city are also good. My ancestors settled in Nebraska, so I'm taking Cornhusker ball caps to the male relatives in Sweden.
