House/Apt Exchange--NY for London
Hi everyone, I have some friends who wish to do an exchange for their house in NYC for an apartment in London. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable company that specializes in exchanges? Thanks in advance.

Slow day, Whathello?

There have been a few exchange threads by others but the grand champion (current) Fodorite exchanger is http://www.fodors.com/community/profile/lauren_s_kahn/
Check out her blog (link posted in her TRs) and there will likely be some helpful info/advice. |
Intervac and Homelink are great. I also signed up for Homeexchange.com in the past, but was unable to get any exchanges out of it, even though it is advertised and markets more. The first two are traditional home exchange organizations from the 1950-60s.

Thank you I will pass on the information to my friends (who are not accustomed to using travel websites and know that I am!!!)

Homelink is running a promotion where they are offering a free trial month and then 1/2 of the membership fee for a year.

We like ( and used ) Home for Exchange and Homeexchange

SAB, you've gotten good advice, but if your friends are serious about home-exchanging in Europe, I would encouragae them to learn to use travel sites on their own. It's nice to help them out, but they are going to be lost in the weeds without some resources of your own.

I have already advised them that home exchanging is probably not for them, thanks.

Told you. If you cannot write ...
