When we were there in May, the Medici chapels closed at about 2:00.

I think the website ate my reply!

You can check this website:

Which shows the hours. It seems the Chapel is open on either Sunday or Monday in alternating weeks. You can make reservations from here, but I doubt that you will need them. We were there in September and went early (around 8:30) and there was no line. At 9PM there was a short line, but couldn't have been more than 10 minutes to get in.

My notes say (which doesn't mean much I'm afraid because I wrote it down from an unknwon internet site last year and they nay refer to summer opening hours ...)
Everyday 8:30 - 5:00
Holydays 8:30 - 1:50
closed 2nd and 4th sunday each month

Fodor's 97: Tues-Sun 9-2
Frommer's 97: Tues-Sat 9-2; Sun 9-1
Michelin 95: Tues-Sun 9-2

I would plan as if they're open from Tuesday to Sunday 9-2 and decide what I would do if they're eventually open till later and/or on Mondays ... I would check as soon as I would get to the hotel and fix my plan accordingly.

Get there when it opens so you can see the chapel before it's crowded. A definite highlight of my trip to Italy last April. No need to buy tickets in the US prior to your visit. Buon viaggio.
