Hours & price of Grand Casino

We are taking a friend to Europe for her very first trip. She has her heart set on visiting the Grand Casino. Can anyone help regarding all things about the casino? I understand you need to bring your passport and there is an admission, but how much, what to wear, are there opening and closing hours? I'm not a gambler, so anything you can tell me will help.

I remember it being a 24 hour operation, but we didn't go to the tables, as the Monagasques are not allowed to gamble there.

There are different areas with different dress requirements. Business is usually slow (except for day trippers) until after dinner. You can usually tell how busy it will be by the number of large boats in the harbor.

To get into the inner rooms is not inexpensive, table stakes are HIGH and requires evening dress (think James Bond.)

To just peek into the outer rooms doesn't have dress requirements beyond business casual - but IMHO - there's little point. (Completely slobby I don;t think will be let in at all.)

If you are staying at nearby hotel (e.g. Metropole, Mirabeau, etc.), they will give you free pass for outer rooms. As nytraveler mentioned people at outer rooms are dressed rather casual.
