anyone use this web site for tickets. the price they give is about half of other sites boston to florence in the fall.
what airlines do they use ?
|
I've never used the service, but I've always looked at it and checked prices for several days before actually buying a ticket or room on Priceline, in order to get a very rough idea of where I should start my bidding on Priceline.

If you click on "Partners" on the bottom of the Hotwire home page, and then on "International carriers," you can at least see a list of ALL possible airlines they use.

(You should note that even though they give you two hours to decide on and buy a ticket, you may not make the same search again for --I think-- three days. This means you can't go back tomorrow and check again, so keep that in mind.)

Buona fortuna!

I have only used hotwire for domestic reservations. But something you can do is ask a friend to check the fare for you.
This will give you a chance to work with priceline if you like. And if they will not beat the hotwire price, then you can use hotwire to purchase the ticket.
That way you have more then the two hour time limit and you can even check yourself the same day.

I have used hotwire.com twice for trips to Tampa, FL, and Long Beach, CA. I have not had problems. Moreover, they are very good about emailing you each time your flight time changes--even if it is just a slight change.

I've used Hotwire a ton and love it. I've never used it for plane tickets though, mostly because my schedules have never been that flexible... but for hotels, I can totally give the reco. So long as you know the city you're going to well enough to specify one area over another, their star-rating system is right on the money. I've used them about a half dozen times and been very pleased.

AS far as airfare goes, I think its safe to assume that since they are a "premier" partner with Orbitz, they offer flights on all the major airlines. However, you're pretty much guaranteed to get non-prime times. But its cheap.

I have used HOTWIRE many times for domestic flights and hotels. Always been pleased with the results.
