Hotels suggetion in Berlin and Hamburg

Can someone please suggest a nice reasonably priced hotel in Berlin and Hamburg that is centrally located for walking around and public transport.

I am not sure what you mean by " a reasonably priced" hotel..What is sometimes not reasonably priced in peak travel season is very reasonably priced at other times...My last visit to Berlin, I stayed at the Keminski Hotel which is located at 27 Kurfurstendamm..It is a very nice hotel...but at times can be a bit expensive..I stayed in the off season and it was not too exhorbitant...It is in walking distance of most of the shopping and theaters..I am sure there are others that are cheaper...I think I paid bout $650.00 for 3 nights ..but it included several meals and room serice and a few bar charges...

When we were in Berlin last fall we stayed at the Hotel Funk which was about a block off the Ku-Dam and about three blocks from the Zooloagical station. It was in a mansion that once belonged to a silent movie star. We payed about three hundred dollars for six nights. Very comfortable.

Hi
try Hamburg Hotels on the Internet.Where do you want to stay. The city is expensive; moderate price at Hotel Eggers about 30 minute from the city center, About $100.
Regads Hans

Hi Jess and JIm!

I stayed in the Fabrik- if u mean the hostel located in Kreuzberg. A very multicultural (or better turkish) part of the town. The hostal was alright. Just for the basic needs: beds, water...
Andy
I stayed at the Mondial on the Ku-dam. It's a small luxurious hotel. I was there in the winter and they gave us a really good rate. If you call the hotel direct it's possible to get a better rate.

After being to Berlin and having stayed at The Hotel Sylter Hof,
I think it will be my home away from home while I'm in Berlin the next time.

BTW in Hamburg we stayed at the Steens, good location but the worst breakfast I had in two weeks in Germany, even at much cheaper hotels I had better.
That and the price will keep me from ever staying there again.
