Hotels on the Rhone

We just stayed in Bacharach, Germany and our room had a beautiful view of the Rhine River, does anyone know of hotels in Provence that located by the Rhone River with a view.

Also, do they off cruises up and down the Rhone, I don't mean long cruises, I mean like 1 or 2 hour cruises.

The Hostellerie Beau Rivage in Condrieu sits right on one bank of the Rhône. Rooms are pleasant, and the restaurant is quite good.

Would this hotel be a good place to explore all the surroundings? Le Mas Perreal seems to get good reviews, would that be a better location to explore.

What is there to do in Provence for 5 days, all I ever read is about the market place. One hour of the market place and I'd be done with that. Is there a lot of sights to visit. Is there beautiful scenery?

Beau Rivage is not in a very scenic area. It is also in the nortern Rhone not in Provence. In the heart of Cote Roti/ Condrieu wine region. The area is quite industrial think Mississipi River. Refineries and nuclear power plants dominate the views. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent, one of the best meals we had on that trip.

OK, I'm sure Condrieu is not the area I want to stay in.

Again, would Le Mas Perreal be a good location? My husband says he does not mind driving to the different villages.

We will be taking the fast train from Paris to Avignon and then renting a car. Is there somewhere close with a cute hotel with a river view. Rick Steves recommends staying in Arles to visit Provence.

I'm rather confused about staying at Le Mas Perreal (is it walkable to a town) or staying in Avignon, Arles??? Any suggestions out there.

It would be useful to know the location of Le Mas Perreal.

What is there to do in Provence? Oh, dear--it's time for you to look at a guidebook or we'll be here all night.

Le Mas Perreal is located in on the
northern slope of the valley formed by the Luberon and the in the countryside surrounding the picturesque village of St. Saturnin-Lès-Apt, a beautiful Bed and Breakfast...

I do have Rick Steve's guidebook and it doesn't say a whole lot about things to do. Is there rivers? Are the villages quaint? What sights are there to keep you busy? Is it better than the Dordogne Region?
